An Open Letter from the

Florence Professional Firefighters Association

The members of the Florence Firefighters Local 270 would

like to thank Senator Bobby Denton for his many years of

service.Many of us still remember his request for our support

in his very first campaign. He has been a good and loyal friend

of ours ever since,and we thank him now for that support.

We realize there are many good candidates who will be vying

for Senator Denton’s Senate seat. There is one,however,

whom we feel will put her whole heart into representing all of

the people of this district. Tammy Irons is qualified,as well

as filled with the desire to be a public servant.

Tammy has supported Local 270 since the time of our re-

charter,through various charities and work on legislation

that affected both the safety and livelihood of public safety

employees. She has long supported us,and now we want to

support her.

The Florence Firefighters Local 270,a member of the

Professional Firefighters of Alabama as well as the International

Association of Firefighters (IAFF) and affiliate of the AFL-CIO-

CLC are proud to endorse and pledge our support to our

friend Tammy Irons as our candidate for Alabama State Senate

seat District 1.

Florence Fire Local 270 has agreed to help The Pat Tillman Foundation by taking donations raised by Rory Fanning who is walking across America in honor of friend. Pat and Rory were in the 2nd Ranger Battalion together. If you would like to give donations Florence Firefighters will accept them and see that they are passed on to the Pat Tillman Foundation.

This is the new artwork approved by the union and UNA. If anyone is wanting a shirt call Josh Hamlin or Casey Glover. This will be a purple shirt and the cost will be $10.00 a shirt. Any sizes XX and over may cost more.

So far this year you have helped us raise money for sponsoring the Carrie Hayes book scholarship fund and MDA Jerry Kids. We also sponsored 4 kids at the Local CP Center along with local firefighter Brian stafford.

This 4th of July we raised $1,580.14. Thanks for all your support.
